As Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Technology & Information Solutions (ATIS) strategic business unit, Steve Smith is responsible for all aspects of nationwide operations and contract performance. Ball Aerospace has a rich heritage in developing systems and software as well as providing outstanding people that analyze intelligence data and create actionable products for the warfighter and decision makers.

Smith joined Ball in 2011 in the company’s Washington Operations as Director of Space Control and Special Missions. He transitioned in 2012 to become Director of Military Space for the National Defense business unit. In 2015, Steve became Director of Programs for ATIS, where he directed programs executing on Ball’s long history of work for the US Air Force, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and other customers on protecting space and airborne systems from cyber physical system threats.
